You can make a difference in the fight against WNV. We encourage you to proactively find opportunities in your community to collaborate and share the message about mosquito control, protection, and prevention. Everyone can play a critical role in fostering this community collaboration. Here are some partners you might work with to spread the word.
Community organizations (PTA, PTO, local chamber of commerce, faith-based organizations, Rotary clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H clubs, etc.) – talk to these large groups to get the word out quickly and create a network of people ready to communicate about the importance of mosquito control and protection. Public works directors and city council members – partner with these city leaders to ensure your community is safely protected. These individuals make critical decisions for the community regarding mosquito control and protection practices. Medical professionals (physicians, veterinarians, nurses, health clinics/departments, etc.) – remind medical professionals about how they can help spread the public health about mosquito protection. These medical professional see firsthand the effects of WNV and can share the importance of mosquito protection with patients and caregivers. WNV survivor groups – Enlist survivors to tell their story. It takes less than a minute outside without mosquito protection for your life to be changed forever.
