Registration
What are the registration deadlines? Online registration will open in October 2013. The early discount deadline is January 9, 2013. See the Registration page for additional information.
When does the 2013 conference officially begin and end? The official conference kickoff is Sunday, February 2 during the Welcome Reception beginning at 5:00 pm. Sessions begin Monday, February 3. The conference closes after the final symposium on Thursday afternoon.
Can I pay with a credit card? Yes! Registering by credit card is the quickest and safest way to register. You can register online beginning in October 2013 using a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
Are all sessions included in the conference fee? All scientific sessions are included in the regular registration rates. Single Day attendees only have access to sessions on the day they register for. Personal Guests or Trustee/Commissioner Guests do not receive admission to any scientific sessions, and may only attend social functions.
What is not covered in the conference fee? If you require an additional ticket to the Wednesday night banquet for a guest or friend, that must be purchased separately. No breakfasts or dinners are provided. It has not yet been determined if lunches will be offered.
I've already registered but cannot attend. Can I cancel or transfer my registration? You may substitute another individual in your place at no extra charge, but the replacement's registration fee will be subject to pricing based on his/her membership status. Cancellations can be made through January 9, 2013 ($50 processing fee applies). See the cancellation policy on the Registration page.
Does AMCA membership come with my registration fee? Membership is NOT included in your registration fee and must be purchased separately. Please visit the AMCA Membership page for more information on joining or renewing your dues.
My company is a sustaining member of AMCA. Do I get a discount for the conference? Yes! Members who are currently employed by a company that is a Sustaining Member of AMCA are eligible to register at the member rates.
I am speaking at the conference. Do I get a discount? There is no discounted rate for speakers. All speakers are required to register and cover all costs associated with the conference.
Is lunch included in my registration fee? Lunch is not provided, but there are daily refreshment breaks. Read the Daily Newsletter onsite for other ideas about where to eat.
How do I register a group of people with a company check? If you need to register multiple people using a company check, you must complete a Registration form for each attendee, and mail them WITH payment. Forms will not be processed unless payment is received. The registration form will be available online in October 2013.
What are the criteria for student registration? To receive the special student discounted fee, you must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of registration.
What does a guest registration include? Guest registration includes admission to social functions including the Welcome Reception, President’s Reception and the Wednesday night banquet, but does not include entry into sessions.
Can I get continuing education credits for attending? Continuing education credits are organized by each state or regional association. AMCA does not provide credits, and you must check with your local state contacts to determine whether or not they will offer credits for attending the meeting.

Housing/Travel
Why should I stay in the conference hotel? Staying in guest rooms at the official conference hotel not only puts you in the center of the action, it also helps AMCA meet its contracted number of rooms with the hotel. Meeting the contracted room block prevents AMCA from owing the hotel money later, which ultimately keeps costs to the attendee as low as possible in future years! Please note that no portion of your room rate is credited back to AMCA.
Does AMCA receive money from my hotel stay? NO! AMCA does not receive any money from the hotel for your hotel stay. AMCA has a contract with the hotel and a certain number of rooms that we must fill, however, none of this is credited in any way to the association.
I'm driving. Where do I park? There is parking available at the Washington State Convention Center. Please click here for information on parking.
What airport should I fly into? The Seattle/Tacoman Internation Airport (SEA) Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) is located about 16 miles from the convention center & Sheraton Hotel. You can view transportation information here.
Onsite
Where do I pick up my name badge and registration bag? In the registration area, located on the Sixth Floor of the Washington State Convention Center.
Will there be a printed conference catalog available onsite? The final program and abstract book will be in your registration bag along with other special information.
Am I allowed to record sessions or presentations at the conference? Presentations are the property of each presenter. You should check with each presenter before recording their material.
Will sessions and presentations be available for viewing after the conference? At this time, sessions and presentations are NOT recorded and therefore not available after the conference. AMCA is continuing to look into cost effective ways to possibly record in future years.
How do I choose my seat at the banquet? A sign up table will be located near the registration area on the sixth floor. Please visit the table during open registration hours to sign up and select your seat.
What is the best way to get updates at the conference? The best way to get updates is to download the mobile application once it is available! You can also pick up a copy of the Daily Newsletter each day from the registration desk, or by your session room.
Will there be free wifi throughout the entire convention center? There is no free wifi in the meeting space of the convention center. Free wifi is offered in public spaces only, such as the lobby area near registration. You can use the cyber cafe onsite at the meeting to check your email and stay connected.
Is there a business center onsite? Yes, there is a FedEx located on the first floor of the convention center.
Do you collect feedback about the conference? Yes, your feedback helps us make the conferences better each year! You will receive an online evaluation link by email after the conference.
